ImportFest returned to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on July 18, once again bringing together enthusiasts from across Ontario, neighbouring provinces, and the United States for a full day of modified cars, aftermarket brands, and automotive culture. With builds filling the show floor from wall to wall, there was no shortage of inspiration for anyone passionate about the modified scene.

The show brought together a broad mix of builds, styles, and enthusiasts under one roof, from long-time show cars and freshly completed projects to street-driven builds, performance cars, trucks, and everything in between. Every aisle offered something different, making it easy to spend hours taking in the details and catching up with fellow enthusiasts.

Leading the exhibitor lineup were sponsors including MotoMaster, Nitto Tire Canada, Toyota, Hagerty, Fitment Works, Toyota Gazoo Racing, Windshield Experts, Drive Marketing Group, and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, giving attendees the opportunity to check out new products, meet with industry representatives, and see the latest offerings from brands supporting the aftermarket.

For photographer Josh Coish, the event marked his first visit to ImportFest in nearly a decade. Having last attended as a teenager, he returned with a much deeper appreciation for the automotive community and came away impressed by the quality of the builds, the organization of the event, and the atmosphere throughout the day. By the time the show wrapped up, ImportFest had firmly re-established itself as an annual event on his calendar.

As the day came to a close, the action extended beyond the show floor and into downtown Toronto. With barricades and police assistance helping manage the organized rollout, spectators lined the route to watch the cars leave the convention centre, pass through the tunnel exit, and head out into the city, providing one final opportunity to see many of the weekend's standout builds in motion.

Whether attendees came to discover new products, reconnect with friends, photograph incredible builds, or simply spend the day immersed in the modified scene, ImportFest once again delivered a memorable gathering for enthusiasts of all kinds.

Tickets are now on sale for Formula DRIFT Final Round 8: Shoreline Showdown, and the series has announced that the 2026 championship finale will take place as an evening event under floodlights on the Streets of Long Beach.

Following the closure of Irwindale Speedway, the Formula DRIFT finale moved to its new home in Long Beach. After the inaugural event, Formula DRIFT has decided to move the competition from a daytime schedule to an evening event.

According to Formula DRIFT, the unique street layout and lighting package are intended to bring some of the ambiance of downtown Long Beach while creating an enhanced competition environment and a concert-like atmosphere as the 2026 Formula DRIFT PRO Champion is crowned.

Formula DRIFT also plans to incorporate fireworks into the championship finale. According to the series, the annual Irwindale fireworks display was always a fan favorite, and the fireworks are intended to add to the overall spectacle of the event.

Formula DRIFT is working closely with track officials to supplement the existing course at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park with additional paving ahead of Round 5 of the 2026 Formula DRIFT PRO Championship, taking place July 30–August 1.

The additional pavement will create a unique layout for the series’ first visit to the venue. Indianapolis Raceway Park is one of three new tracks on the 2026 Formula DRIFT schedule.

The updated layout was developed in collaboration with Driver Liaisons Ryan Litteral, Ken Gushi, and Matt Field, along with Formula DRIFT Judges Brian Eggert, Reese Marin, Robbie Nishida, and Vernon Zvanevald, and the Formula DRIFT Competition Department.

According to Formula DRIFT, the Driver Liaisons suggested paving new sections of the existing course to enhance the layout. The revised configuration was evaluated through site visits before new asphalt was laid in preparation for the event.

In addition to PRO and PROSPEC competition, Formula DRIFT Indy will also feature the Type-S Night Lights event. Presented by Larry Chen, the evening will include actor Sung Kang, who will debut an extended trailer for his Drifter movie and participate in a Q&A session. Admission to Night Lights and the screening is included with proof of a Formula DRIFT Indy ticket purchase.

Round 5 of the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship and Round 3 of the Link ECU PROSPEC Championship will take place at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July 30–August 1.

After taking a year off to secure a new venue, Slamology returned for its 22nd year at Edgewater Sports Park in Cleves, Ohio. Although the event moved west from its longtime home near Indianapolis, the transition proved to be a success as enthusiasts from across the country gathered for another weekend celebrating automotive culture in all its forms.

The new venue brought several welcome additions, including expanded vendor areas, a longer cruise route, more shade, and plenty of room for participants and spectators. From the moment the gates opened, it was clear Slamology had not lost any momentum during its hiatus.

As always, the audio competition area was one of the event’s biggest attractions. Vehicles of every size and style filled one side of the drag strip as competitors participated in Bass Wars, MECA, and IASCA events throughout the weekend. Enthusiasts also enjoyed countless demo sessions while major manufacturers and retailers, including KICKER, Sky High Car Audio, SoundQubed, B2 Audio, AudioControl, and many others, showcased the latest products in the vendor area.

Across the facility, the Big Rig Round Up displayed an impressive collection of custom semi-trucks, while rows of customized motorcycles and baggers highlighted intricate paintwork and craftsmanship. Throughout the grounds, attendees encountered an incredible mix of custom vehicles, including lowriders, mini trucks, donks, tuners, lifted trucks, Jeeps, classics, project builds, and more.

One of the biggest advantages of the new venue was its expanded cruise lane, allowing participants to drive throughout the grounds and even make passes down the left lane of the drag strip. The layout gave spectators an even better opportunity to experience the variety of vehicles that make Slamology unique.

Beyond the vehicles, the event offered something for everyone. Vendor booths featured apparel, aftermarket products, community organizations, military displays, local law enforcement, and fundraising groups, while live bands, musicians, DJs, and stage entertainment kept the energy high throughout the weekend. Returning favorites such as the low-car limbo, bikini contest, and tattoo contest once again drew enthusiastic crowds.

After a successful move to its new home, Slamology proved that a change of venue has not changed what has made it one of the Midwest’s premier automotive gatherings. With a larger facility, an outstanding variety of vehicles, and strong community support, Year 22 marked an exciting new chapter for one of the industry’s longest-running enthusiast events.

The 2026 Lowrider Super Show Charlotte rolled into Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord, North Carolina, bringing one of the largest lowrider gatherings the Charlotte area has seen in many years. While clubs throughout the region regularly host summer shows, picnics, and cruises, the Super Show drew vehicles and enthusiasts from across the East Coast, with clubs traveling from as far north as New Hampshire and as far south as Florida, along with strong representation from the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, and beyond.

The show floor featured an impressive range of builds. Traditional cruisers with hydraulic setups and wire wheels appeared alongside radical creations covered in chrome, engraving, custom paint, and fully detailed suspension systems. Some were even mounted on rotisseries, giving spectators a clear view of the extensive work underneath.

The variety extended beyond the usual Impalas and classic bombs. Euros, donks, mini trucks, motorcycles, and other custom platforms helped demonstrate just how broad today’s lowrider scene has become.

One of the event’s standout attractions was the area dedicated to smaller builds and younger enthusiasts. Custom bicycles, tricycles, and even strollers received the same level of attention as their full-size counterparts, featuring chrome, engraving, custom paint, lighting, audio systems, and televisions.

The displays surrounding them were just as elaborate. Lighting, crushed velvet, rotating platforms, club apparel, plaques, signage, and carefully coordinated themes transformed each build into a complete presentation. One display even included a custom-painted gumball machine designed to match the build beside it.

Nearby, RC car enthusiasts showcased their own custom creations within the “Toyz in the Hood� display. Some models remained parked for spectators to inspect, while others cruised through miniature streets or demonstrated their hopping abilities.

Vendors filled Cabarrus Arena with everything from traditional lowrider apparel and merchandise to hydraulic components, wheels, spokes, and other specialty equipment. Beyond the vehicles and products, much of the event revolved around the community itself, giving club members, builders, and spectators plenty of time to reconnect and exchange stories about their rides.

Live entertainment continued throughout the day with performances by Lil Rob, Low J, Aztec Speech, and other artists. Danza Guerreros from the Raleigh-Durham area also presented a traditional dance performance that celebrated the culture surrounding the lowrider community.

Following the awards ceremony, the day concluded with the traditional lowrider hop. Drivers pushed their hydraulic setups to the limit as the crowd gathered to watch the cars launch from the pavement. Young Dayton Livingston delivered one of the most memorable performances, sending his dancer into the air and eventually balancing it on its side.

For the first Lowrider Super Show of this scale in the Charlotte area in many years, the event delivered a strong turnout and plenty of memorable builds. Participants and spectators are already looking ahead to its scheduled return in July 2027.
