Italian supercar maker Ferrari has officially unveiled the new Ferrari Amalfi Spider, bringing open-top driving to its sleek grand touring lineup. Based on the recently introduced Ferrari Amalfi, the Spider keeps the same elegant styling and performance but adds a retractable soft-top roof for drivers who want to enjoy the sound of the engine with the sky overhead.
Visually, the Spider stays very close to the coupe’s design, keeping the smooth body lines and muscular stance that define the Amalfi. The biggest change is the power-operated fabric roof, which can quickly retract or deploy while the car is moving. Ferrari engineered the roof to fold compactly so the car still maintains usable trunk space, and it’s designed with multiple fabric layers to help keep road noise and heat levels similar to a fixed-roof model.
Power comes from the same twin-turbo V8 found in the coupe, sending serious performance to the rear wheels through a dual-clutch transmission. Inside, the Amalfi Spider carries over the coupe’s modern cockpit layout, including a large digital gauge cluster, central touchscreen, and passenger display. Ferrari also added a retractable wind deflector behind the front seats to help reduce turbulence when driving with the top down. Pricing hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the Amalfi Spider is expected to arrive in markets worldwide sometime in the near future.
